A private Winter Weather Advisory encompasses most of Central, Western, Northern, and Eastern Kentucky, beginning Thursday night, through the afternoon, Friday, and possibly extending in to Saturday.

Precipitation is already occurring in Western Kentucky, and will likely accumulate up to 5 inches in some areas particularly around the bluegrass region and South Eastward. Most areas West of I-75 will be looking at 1-3 inches.

Wind Statement: Wind will likely be mild, gusting to 10-12 mph.

Activation: Kentuckians are encouraged to submit reports and photos of ice and snow impacting travel through the night. You can use Twitter #kywx, #ekywx, and for those in Eastern Kentucky, you can tag @EKYVost

Travel Impact: Please give yourself additional travel time to account for warming your vehicle up. Make sure you keep enough fuel in your vehicle in case of an emergency, this will allow you to run your vehicle for heat longer. Additionally, there may be ice and snow on roadways. Use caution, or preferably stay home!
*ICE* Ice is a threat with this storm, especially once roads freeze.
