Pulaski - Family Narrowly Escapes After Tree Destroys Home.
Posted by: TeamW700 - 06-23-2019, 01:55 PM - Forum: Newsworthy Weather - No Replies

A family in Pulaski County says they're lucky to be alive after a large Oak tree fell on their home during storms. They said the tree landed right where there bed was, and had they not followed the weather alerts and sheltered on the floor, they likely would have been crushed.

One great reason to keep a weather radio on!

NOAA Planned Upgrade to GFS Model for 2019 Hurricane Season
Posted by: TeamW700 - 06-17-2019, 08:54 PM - Forum: Research - No Replies

NOAA is planning on upgrading the core of its coveted Global Forecast System, or GFS for short, just before the 2019 Atlantic hurricane season.

This is a great read, and it will be interesting to see how 2019's season plays out data-wise.

  Stalling Front - June 17, 2019

A stalling front over the Ohio Valley area will cause several rounds of storms across the state. This could lead to flooding potential, and a chance for damaging winds/hail. This system is expected to hang out for the week, so brace yourselves for a wet one! And as always, stay weather aware!
