A private Wind Advisory is in effect for the areas shown below. Beginning mid morning Sunday, wind gusts from the Northwest will increase across the state, likely exceeding our threshold of 30 Mph with some areas possibly reaching 40-45 Mph+. Consistent winds of 10-15 Mph will be likely across much of the area.
Wind Statement: Wind will likely be gusty, especially for portions of Kentucky in the Northwestern area and Louisville Metro area. This gusty weather is expected to last for at least 6-8 hours beginning around 9-10 AM Eastern. (14Z-15Z)
Activation: Team W700 spotters are encouraged to submit accurate wind reports over 50 Mph and damage reports using the Statewide VOST
Travel Impact: High profile vehicles should be cautious while driving on interstates. Wind gusts that may reach or exceed 45 Mph can be significantly hazardous to drivers.
