A private Blizzard Advisory is in effect for the areas shown below. Tonight, a line of heavy rate of fall snow storms will impact the area bringing the potential for widespread damaging winds, excessive snowfall, and reduced visibility. The area of most concern will be North Central KY extending further Northeast in to Ohio and West Virginia.

Extreme caution should be taken if you must drive in this weather. Others are highly encouraged and advised to stay in place.

Driving in these conditions puts you at risk, others at risk, road crews at risk, and emergency personnel at risk.

There is the possibility of damaging winds associated with this weather event, as well as downed power lines. Never approach downed lines, and use extreme caution if walking outside as you may not see downed lines buried in the snow.

PVT Wind Advisory #004 (Expires 08:00Z NOV 6)

5 NOV 2018 – Valid until 3 AM (08Z) 6 NOV 2018

A private Wind Advisory is in effect for the areas shown below. Tonight, a line of strong storms will impact the area bringing the potential for widespread damaging winds. The area of most concern will be South Central KY extending further Southwest through TN.

Wind Statement: Wind will likely be gusty as storms approach from the West, especially for portions of Southern Kentucky.

Activation: Team W700 spotters are encouraged to submit accurate wind reports over 50 Mph and damage reports using the Statewide VOST or using Twitter #kyvost or #W700Spotters

Travel Impact: High profile vehicles should be cautious while driving on interstates during storms. Wind gusts that may reach or exceed 60 Mph can be significantly hazardous to drivers. At times, visibility may be reduced or near zero. It is best to avoid driving during these storms.

27 OCT 2018 – Valid until 6 PM (23Z) 28 OCT 2018

A private Wind Advisory is in effect for the areas shown below. Beginning mid morning Sunday, wind gusts from the Northwest will increase across the state, likely exceeding our threshold of 30 Mph with some areas possibly reaching 40-45 Mph+. Consistent winds of 10-15 Mph will be likely across much of the area.

Wind Statement: Wind will likely be gusty, especially for portions of Kentucky in the Northwestern area and Louisville Metro area. This gusty weather is expected to last for at least 6-8 hours beginning around 9-10 AM Eastern. (14Z-15Z)
